You're invited to join a volunteer initiative aimed at helping others improve their English through engaging and supportive speaking clubs.
BlaBla_English_UA hosts open sessions for anyone who wants to practice essential skills and find encouragement throughout their learning journey.
Over the past 1.5 years, we’ve held more than 250 live sessions, where hundreds of people have found the support and motivation they need to grow and improve their lives.
The majority of participants are Ukrainians.
In times like these, it’s especially important for us to support one another - and English has become a powerful tool for bringing kind and motivated people together in our community.
Our club is actively growing. We have already welcomed new event moderators and would like to find native speakers who would like to help us.

Currently, the BlaBla_English_UA community hosts the following activities:
- Regular speaking club sessions, where a moderator coordinates the process and assigns participants to breakout rooms.
A typical session plan:
- 10-minute warm-up session where the host checks in with participants, asks how they are doing, and welcomes newcomers (around 1 minute per person).
- 5-minute introduction to the session’s topic and explanation of the discussion questions for the breakout rooms.
- First 20-minute session in breakout rooms (usually groups of 3 people), where participants practice their English. During this time, the moderator visits different rooms and joins the conversations when needed.
- 5-minute group discussion between sessions, where several participants share what interesting things they discussed.
- Second 20-minute session with a new mix of participants in the breakout rooms.
The host's responsibilities:
- Be active and confidently lead the session.
- Call on participants by name to start or continue conversations.
- Manage time effectively, making sure everyone gets a chance to speak.
- Politely step in if someone speaks too long and smoothly pass the floor to others.
