    Description

    Position Overview

The Program Manager will play a vital leadership role on the Education Team. As Program Manager, the selected candidate will be responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of our new youth outreach program, the Civic Navigators Club.

Geared towards youth between the ages of 11 and 14 years old, the Civic Navigators Program seeks to provide immersive and engaging experiences in civic knowledge and responsibility.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and refine curriculum for club-based civic learning.
    • Recruit, train, and coordinate with local educators assigned to the program.
    • Coordinate scheduling, logistics, and communications with schools and community organizations.
    • Track participation, outcomes, and feedback to improve program quality.
    • Plan annual gatherings of Civic Navigators to showcase their civic knowledge skills and promote educational development.
    • Represent CivicsEDU at community events and program showcases.

    Time Commitment

We hold monthly all-staff meetings lasting approximately 1 hour each and each team can meet up to three times a month for team projects. While there are no fixed work hours, we encourage you to dedicate available time between these meetings to projects relevant to your role. It is highly recommended that the selected candidate retain their current employment arrangement while offering their services to CivicsEDU. We will work with your schedule to ensure that your full-time employment remains the top priority.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in political science, public administration, history, education, sociology, or related field is desirable. Collegiate students are also encouraged to apply.
    • Demonstrated passion for civic engagement, social equity, and community empowerment.
    • Strong knowledge of civics education principles, government structures, and democratic processes.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively.
    • Experience developing and delivering educational programs or workshops, preferably with youth.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple projects and priorities with attention to detail.
    • Commitment to equity, inclusivity, and cultural competency in all aspects of program development and implementation.
    • Preference will be given to candidates that reside within the Charlotte metropolitan area.
