    Intern to Executive Director of Charitable foundation

    Yashchenko Foundation is a humanitarian organisation founded and led by local responders who have worked at the front line since the start of the full‑scale invasion. We operate in some of Ukraine’s most dangerous and hard‑to‑reach areas, supplying hospitals, IDP shelters, and front‑line communities with essential aid, and helping civilians reach safety.

    The internship opportunity:

    The Yashchenko Foundation is excited to offer the chance for a recent graduate or student to participate in a part-time internship opportunity.

    We are looking to recruit a motivated young professional who is interested in pursuing a career in humanitarian/nonprofit work. The intern will perform administrative and communication tasks to support the Executive Director by preparing for high-level meetings, staff calls, partnership engagements in addition to ensuring the visibility of the humanitarian organization is on-going. This will be accomplished by social media support, website management, and building a communications strategy. The Intern will also support the Executive Director in coordinating the external engagement, fundraising, and other types of events.

    The intern will have extensive exposure to the operations of a humanitarian organization working at the forefront of the war of Ukraine. Although the intern will report to the Executive Director, they will have the opportunity to work closely with each of YF’s Senior Leadership to understand humanitarian programs, finance, logistics, and other aspects to effectively running an international organization.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare briefings on prospective partners or agencies in advance of meetings
    • Participate in team and/or departmental meetings, take notes, summarise minutes
    • Support meetings/events with donors, politicians, nonprofit leaders, and community partners
    • Support general office duties such as monthly budget reconciliations, board reports, correspondence, database management, and filings
    • Lead and/or support fundraising efforts for the organisation
    • Monitor and update the Executive Director’s management software for assignments & projects
    • Oversee website, blogs and social media sites to encourage awareness of YF’s events and mission
    • Assist Executive Director with assignments, projects, and tasks
    • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or Director of Operations

    Qualifications:

    • Students pursuing or possessing a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in a related field.
    • Intern should be adept with Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Web research and be skilled at create forms, or instruments that help to track goals, outcomes, and financials.
    • Excellent oral, written, and communication/presentation skills
    • Comfortable engaging with and interacting with team members, donors, partners, and other important stakeholders
    • Ability to work well with diverse and multicultural groups of people
    • Fluent in the use of different social media accounts such as linkedin, Instagram, twitter, facebook, and others
    • This can be a remote/virtual position; however, the preferred candidate will need to live/work in the United Kingdom.
    • Preference for fluent English and Ukrainian speakers.
