Student Advisory Board Manager

The Youth Arts Academy (YAA) is a youth music studio that offers private music instruction, band and ensemble programs, school break camps, and community events primarily for youth ages 5 - 18. It operates as part of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest San Diego, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that specializes in afterschool programs and extracurricular activities for youth in the community.

The Student Advisory Board (SAB) is a group of 8 students from grades 6 - 12. It is a program designed to allow students to become directly involved in shaping the success of the Youth Arts Academy. Board members are given the opportunity to plan and organize events, volunteer, fundraise, and communicate with YAA staff about ways to expand the program.It is also a great opportunity for students to practice leadership,teambuilding, decision-making, and conflict resolution, while fulfilling volunteer hour requirements and bolstering college and job applications.
