    Description

    Volunteer Filmography

    *Volunteer will need to be DOC certified, we at OMP will assist with getting that certification, no cost to the volunteer*

    • Videographer
      • Will record the participant reading to their chosen family member.
      • Participant is comfortable and give proper signs when finished recording.
    • Admin
      • Ensuring the paperwork has been completed accurately and to the best of knowledge of the participant.
      • Making sure that the participant has all the necessary information, if not assisting in them finding the correct information to the best of your ability.
    • Book Coaching
      • Helping pick out age appropriate books for the participants.

    OK Messages Project is an program that assist children of incarcerated parents receive a connection with the participant, all the while making a difference in literacy rate.

    Instructions:

    DOC Certification Process

    All approved applicants must complete the DOC Volunteer Certification before beginning service. This process includes:

    1. Orientation Training:
      • Attendance at a mandatory DOC Volunteer Orientation Session.
      • Overview of facility procedures, safety protocols, confidentiality, and code of conduct.
    2. Security and Policy Briefing:
      • Instruction on correctional environment awareness, prohibited items, and volunteer responsibilities.
    3. Certification Verification:
      • Successful completion of all required documentation and training assessments.
      • Issuance of a DOC Volunteer Identification Badge.

    Volunteers are not permitted to enter correctional facilities or engage with participants until DOC Certification is confirmed.

    • We at OMP will assist in the process of getting into this one day course for certification. No cost to attend.
