    About Youth Economists Forum (YEF)

Youth Economists Forum (YEF) is a youth-led organisation that empowers students to explore economics, public policy, and social issues through research and discussion. YEF provides high school students with early exposure to academic research, critical thinking, and real-world problem solving.

    Role Overview

YEF is seeking motivated High School Researchers who are curious about economics, policy, and social impact. No prior research experience is required—this role is designed to help students learn research skills from the ground up while working with mentors and peers.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist with basic research tasks such as reading articles and summarising key ideas
    • Support literature reviews and background research on assigned topics
    • Help collect and organise data from public sources
    • Contribute to short research pieces, blogs, or policy summaries
    • Participate in team meetings, discussions, and learning sessions
    • Follow guidance from research leads and mentors

    Who Should Apply

    • Currently enrolled high school students (Grades 9–12 or equivalent)
    • Interest in economics, public policy, international relations, or social issues
    • Willingness to learn, ask questions, and collaborate with others
    • Basic writing and reading skills in English
    • No prior research or technical experience required

    What You’ll Gain

    • Introduction to academic and policy research in a supportive environment
    • Skill development in critical thinking, writing, and research methods
    • Mentorship from senior students and early-career researchers
    • Opportunity to contribute to published youth research (subject to review)
    • Certificate of participation and recommendation letter (performance-based)
