Turn Moments into Memories: Volunteer with Your Camera
This role offers a unique opportunity to use your photography skills to create lasting memories for patients and their loved ones. Your time and talent help provide families with meaningful keepsakes during an important and emotional time, offering comfort and connection through photography.
What the Volunteer Will Do
- Visit hospice patients at the request of the patient and/or family to create meaningful keepsake photographs
- Spend time with patients and families in a calm, respectful manner to ensure a comfortable experience
- Capture and lightly edit digital images for families to cherish
- Coordinate visits with hospice staff while honoring confidentiality, HIPAA, and hospice policies
- Approach each interaction with compassion, patience, and professionalism
Qualifications
- Volunteer must be at least 18 years of age with reliable transportation
- Criminal background check, drug screening & TB test
- Completion of hospice volunteer training and orientation
- Photography experience (professional or hobbyist welcome)
- Own camera equipment and basic photo editing ability
- Comfortable spending time with individuals facing serious illness
