Event Volunteers: MN Nordic Ski Opener

General Event Info: Whether you're an experienced Nordic skier or trying it for the first time, join Minnesota’s first official ski of the year! Skiers of all abilities and ages are invited to kick off winter with free skiing, free rental equipment, and free mini-lessons! Volunteer Roles:

• Ski Buddies - help novice skiers on their first lap (post mini-lesson) around a groomed track. Must be a skilled skier and able to easily talk to others about basics of skiing
• Ski Lesson Assistants - gather guests into small groups, help them get their skis on, direct groups to a ski instructor for their mini-lesson.
• Greeting/orienting
• Ski Rental Assistants - help staff manage the busy ski rental area. This is a fast paced role!
• Nordic village set-up or take-down (come pre- or post-event to help set up or take down tents, tables, etc. required for the Nordic village. Physical requirements: must be able to lift and carry ~50 lbs and use carts and dollies to move other supplies)

Schedule

Event time is from 9a to 3p. Set-up takes place prior to this; take-down would take place after the event ends. Ski Buddy shifts are 1.5 - 4 hours long. All other shifts are either half- or full-day.
