Would you like to give back to your community?

Are you looking to complete internship or community service hours?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may be the perfect candidate for our Friendly Visiting Program.

The Friendly Visiting Program matches seniors in our Case Management Program with volunteers who make in-person or phone-based visits. This program helps reduce social isolation experienced by many older adults and provides meaningful companionship for both the senior and the volunteer. The Friendly Visitor Volunteer Coordinator and Case Manager work together to identify seniors who would benefit from this supportive service.

    • Doing puzzles together
    • Reading books
    • Listening to music
    • Crocheting or arts and crafts
    • Visiting a nearby park
    • Meaningful phone conversations

Volunteers can choose to provide one hour of in-person visiting per week or 15min -1hour of phone visiting per week.

The goal is to reduce isolation and improve the social well-being of an older adult through consistent companionship.

    Volunteers must:

    • Be 18 years or older
    • Be willing to make a 3–6-month commitment, with a goal of one one-hour visit or phone call each week
