    Description

Outcome School is a mission‑driven nonprofit empowering youth with tech, engineering, and leadership skills. Our Robotics & Autonomous Systems track introduces students to the future of innovation — drones, robots, sensors, automation, and the physics that make them move. To expand this program, we’re seeking a passionate Robotics Engineering Volunteer to help design curriculum, create course materials, and mentor students as they build robotics‑inspired MVPs and final products.

    🤖 About the Role

As a Robotics Engineering volunteer, you will help shape the next generation of builders and problem‑solvers. You’ll design beginner‑friendly robotics curriculum, create slides and assignments, and guide students through hands‑on projects involving drones, autonomous systems, precision movement, and gravity‑based mechanics. You’ll also mentor students during MVP Week and Final Product Week, helping them transform ideas into functional prototypes and portfolio‑ready demonstrations.

This role is ideal for someone who loves robotics, teaching, and inspiring young innovators.

    🛠️ What You’ll Do

    • Design and develop curriculum for our Introduction to Robotics & Autonomous Systems course.
    • Create course materials, including slides, assignments, lab activities, and project templates.
    • Teach or support live sessions with demonstrations, walkthroughs, and Q&A.
    • Mentor students as they build robotics‑inspired MVPs (Week 6) and final products (Week 12).
    • Provide feedback on design, logic, precision, physics, and autonomy concepts.
    • Introduce students to real engineering principles, including:
    • sensors & actuators
    • gravity & motion
    • precision control
    • autonomous decision‑making
    • drone flight basics
    • Collaborate with the Program Manager to ensure curriculum quality and consistency.
    • Support students during Demo Day, helping them present their robotics projects to stakeholders.

    🔧 What You Bring

    • Experience in robotics, drones, mechatronics, automation, or related fields.
    • Familiarity with microcontrollers (Arduino, Raspberry Pi), robotics kits, or simulation tools.
    • Ability to explain engineering concepts in simple, engaging ways.
    • A passion for teaching, mentoring, and empowering youth.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
    • (Bonus) Experience creating curriculum, slides, or technical documentation.

🚀 Why Volunteer With Outcome School

    • Make a meaningful impact on youth exploring engineering and innovation.
    • Build leadership and teaching experience in a supportive environment.
    • Add curriculum design and robotics education to your professional portfolio.
    • Join a mission‑driven team that values creativity, precision, and community.
    • Help students build real robotics‑inspired products they can showcase to future employers.
