    Description

    Overview

    The Volunteer Youth Advocacy Instructor plays an essential role in facilitating our virtual advocacy workshops. In this position, you will guide youth and young adults in building confidence, strengthening their voice, and practicing real‑world communication, leadership, and self‑advocacy skills. Through supportive education, training, and interactive activities, you will help participants develop the tools they need to advocate for themselves and others, influence decisions, and show up as leaders in their communities.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Facilitate discussions and activities
    • Coach youth in storytelling and communication
    • Provide supportive, strengths‑based feedback
    • Prepare for sessions by reviewing materials
    • Communicate with staff and attend occasional meetups

    Required:

    • Passion for youth empowerment and social justice
    • Strong communication and facilitation skills
    • Respectful, trauma‑informed, culturally responsive approach
    • Comfort teaching in a virtual environment

    Preferred (Not required):

    • Experience mentoring or teaching youth
    • Familiarity with system-involved youth

    Training & Support
