    About Mentor A Promise (MAP)

Mentor A Promise (MAP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children and youth ages 5–18 experiencing housing instability in New York City. Through mentorship, literacy, social-emotional learning, creative expression, and community connection, MAP creates safe, consistent, and empowering spaces where young people can thrive. All programs and services are delivered by trained volunteers committed to equity, dignity, and opportunity for every child.

    About Threads of Voices

Threads of Voices is MAP’s multimedia storytelling platform and interview series dedicated to capturing the lives, stories, and cultural threads that shape New York City. The series explores identity, migration, family history, artistry, struggle, resilience, and the hidden narratives that define who we are.

Featuring designers, activists, educators, artists, youth, elders, community storytellers, and everyday New Yorkers, Threads of Voices aims to:

    • Preserve stories that are often overlooked
    • Elevate voices across cultures and generations
    • Bridge fashion, narrative, and community history
    • Connect storytelling with MAP’s youth empowerment mission
    • Weave together the “threads” that bind people across identity and experience

This series is part documentary, part interview, part community oral history—designed to inspire, inform, and connect.

    About the Role

The Producer – Threads of Voices will oversee creative development, production, and execution of the series. This role requires a strong storyteller with an eye for detail, a heart for community, and the ability to manage both narrative and logistics.

    Guest Outreach & Relationship Building

    • Research and identify storytellers, artists, and community voices
    • Lead guest outreach, onboarding, communication, and scheduling
    • Prepare interview briefs and support pre-interview conversations

    Post-Production Coordination

    • Collaborate with editors and designers on final cuts, visuals, and promotional assets
    • Ensure the final production aligns with MAP’s mission, tone, trauma-informed practice, and brand identity
    • Provide quality checks before publishing

    • Commitment to MAP’s mission, values, and trauma-informed approach
    • Interest in fashion, identity, culture, oral history, or NYC storytelling is a plus
    • Video/audio production familiarity helpful but not required
