    Location: New York City (with some hybrid flexibility)

    Position Summary

    LP4Y USA is looking to fill its advocacy and engagement lead position to strengthen the organization’s influence, visibility, and partnerships across key advocacy platforms and educational institutions. This part-time role focuses on expanding local engagement through university and high school partnerships, while also ensuring LP4Y’s ongoing participation and contributions with the United Nations ecosystem. The position is essential to maintaining LP4Y’s Special Consultative Status with ECOSOC and its leadership as an expert in youth inclusion on the global stage.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Ensure the continuity of LP4Y’s UN representation and ECOSOC involvement by contributing to year-long United Nations activities, reports, and dialogues related to youth inclusion, including: the High Level Political Forum, Committee for Social Development activities, connections with country delegations, and side events.
    • Create events and opportunities for the participation of LP4Y Youth or Stars to ensure their visibility on the global stage.
    • Explore, initiate, and develop partnerships with local universities and high schools to promote youth engagement, create volunteer pipelines, and raise awareness of LP4Y’s mission across educational institutions.
    • Foster connections between LP4Y USA, student groups, advocacy networks, and local organizations that align with LP4Y’s mission.

    Ideal Profile

    • Strong interest in international development, youth advocacy, and nonprofit engagement.
    • Familiarity with United Nations structures, ECOSOC processes, and youth-focused advocacy is preferred.
    • Awareness of or affinity with LP4Y’s mission to support excluded youth through entrepreneurship and professional integration.

    Commitment

    • Part-time volunteer position with flexible scheduling.
    • Estimated 20 hours per week, depending on UN event cycles and partnership activities.
    • Minimum commitment of 6–12 months preferred to ensure relationship continuity and sustained impact.
    • In-person attendance for several key UN events throughout the year.
