    Description

Opening Minds through Art (OMA) is an award-winning, evidence-based, intergenerational art program for people with Alzheimer’s disease

Do you desire to make a difference in the lives of people with memory loss? People suffering from memory loss diseases can often feel alone and afraid. Building genuine friendships with them can make all the difference to their quality of life. In OMA, the resident works on their art piece independently, tapping into the creative part of their brain. As a volunteer, you visit with them and gently guide them through the steps of the project. Residents come alive in conversation while making art!

OMA is a great way to connect with people with dementia and as you engage in art-making together.
