    Volunteer Grant Writer for Organization Serving Former Foster Youth

    Foster Your Future is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Volunteer Grant Writer to assist us in securing funding to support our programs and initiatives. As a Grant Writer, you may research grant opportunities, draft compelling proposals, and collaborate with our team to meet application deadlines. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to make a meaningful impact through their writing and research skills.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Grant Research: Identify and research potential grant opportunities that align with our mission and programs.
    • Proposal Writing: Write, edit, and proofread grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documents to meet submission guidelines and deadlines.
    • Collaboration: Work closely with staff to gather information about programs, outcomes, and funding needs.
    • Database Management: Track grant submissions, deadlines, and reporting requirements using our grant management tools.
    • Reporting: Assist in preparing reports for funders, detailing program outcomes and impact.

    Required Skills & Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of Grant Advance software, or willingness to complete training.
    • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling and persuasive narratives.
    • Strong research skills to identify grant opportunities and understand funder requirements.
    • Attention to detail and ability to adhere to deadlines.
    • Familiarity with nonprofit work and fundraising, is a plus.
    • Prior experience in grant writing is preferred but not required.
    • Proficiency in using tools like Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PDF software a must.

    Time Commitment:

    Flexible schedule, with an estimated 4- 10 hours per week, depending on deadlines.
