    Description

If you enjoy talking on the phone and have time to make a few comforting phone calls, you may be a perfect Bereavement Telephone Volunteer. Our volunteers make phone calls to bereaved family members after the hospice patient's death. We call to check on the families, offer friendly conversation, and identify any support needed.

These short phone calls can go a long way in making a difference in those coping with grief. Use your compassion, listening skills and time, to give someone comfort.

The hours are flexible, and you can work from home or the VITAS office. We offer free volunteer orientation to help you learn the skills required to be an outstanding Volunteer Caller.
