    Description

    Public Relations Director

    Develop and execute public relations plans and strategies to achieve specific goals. Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with consumer, community, employee, and public interest groups. Analyzes the organization’s objectives, promotional policies, and needs to build public relations strategies that influence public opinion and promote programs, ideas, and services. Build and maintain relationships with journalists, media outlets, and other stakeholders. Respond to media inquiries and manage crisis communications.Track and analyze media coverage and public opinion. Works with the Director of Programs on the development of programs to maintain favorable public and stakeholder views of the organization’s agenda and accomplishments. Drafts speeches and schedules interviews. Write and distribute press releases, media alerts, and other communication materials. With the Media Relations Director prepares and edits organizational materials, including employee newsletters and other publications for internal and external audiences. Organize and attend media events and press conferences. Coaches Core Team members in effective communication with the public. Collaborates with team members to identify trends and evaluate advertising to determine whether it is in sync with the organization’s public relation efforts. Develop and manage the PR budget. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices. Maintains the organization’s image and identity.

    Must have active social media accounts.

    This is a remote/virtual position however, the preferred candidate will live/work in the Chicagoland area.
