    Description

Kehilat Sephardim Food Pantry is joining Hunger Free America’s MLK Serve-a-thon to help fight food insecurity in the Greater Queens community. Established in 1991, the pantry serves over 1,200 families weekly and distributes more than 8,000 food packages and holiday meals each month.

For the MLK Serve-a-thon, volunteers will help support the pantry’s distribution line. Tasks may include sorting, packing, stocking assorted grocery items, and assisting with client management. Volunteers may be working outdoors, so please dress appropriately for the weather. Some lifting of around 10–20 lbs may be required.

The pantry serves a diverse population, so proficiency in Spanish, Mandarin, or Cantonese is helpful (but not required).

For more information about the organization, please visit www.kehilatpantry.org.
