Job Summary: The Non-profit Innovation and Program Development Assistant plays a critical role in supporting an organization's mission by fostering a culture of creativity, exploring new approaches, and assisting in the planning and execution of innovative programs and projects.
This role combines administrative and operational support with a strong emphasis on research, collaboration, and creative problem-solving, according to VALTAS. The assistant will contribute to developing and implementing innovative solutions to meet evolving community needs and organizational goals.
Responsibilities
- Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough research on industry trends, innovative program models, funding opportunities, and best practices in the non-profit sector.
- Innovation & Idea Generation: Actively participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute to developing innovative solutions for delivering services, engaging stakeholders, and maximizing impact.
- Program Development Support: Assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of innovative programs and projects, including preparing documentation, managing timelines, and coordinating logistics.
- Communication and Collaboration: Facilitate communication between departments, stakeholders, and community partners to gather feedback and build strong relationships.
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to program managers and teams, including scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and managing program-related documentation.
- Data Management and Reporting: Maintain and update program documentation, track key metrics, and assist with data collection and analysis to measure program effectiveness and impact.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as non-profit management, social work, communications, or a related discipline.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, notes Big Buzz Idea Group.
- Ability to think creatively and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite) and program management tools.
- Experience or demonstrated interest in non-profit work, social impact, and program development.
- Experience with donor management systems or online fundraising platforms is a plus.

Time Commitment:
- Volunteer role requires approximately 15–20 hours per month.
- Flexible scheduling to accommodate availability, with occasional meetings or deadlines requiring time-sensitive engagement.

- This position is primarily remote, with the possibility of periodic in-person meetings or events depending on program needs and location.
