    Deliver meals every Thursday, between the hours of 10:00am-12:00pm or every other week or 1 time a month- however this may fit into your purpose.

    Must be reliable and do your best to be on time and available to deliver meals per the volunteer calendar. Our customers rely on us to deliver their meals each week no matter what the circumstances or weather.

    Description

    Volunteering Purpose:

    Voluteering with Optage Meals provides a golden opportunity to directly help individuals in your community. Our volunteers deliver much more than a meal! They also deliver warm smiles and much needed safety checks to seniors and adults with disabilities. You will make valued connections with your neighbors and help them remain independent in their own homes. Volunteers assist with delivering and putting away meals if indicated, bringing cheer and TLC to clients.

    • Continued and/or increased ability to be healthy, independent, and remain in own home
    • Receive additional individualized attention with conversations/check in’s

    Essential Duties:

    • Deliver meals to the homes of scheduled clients
    • Follow delivery route instructions
    • Report back to Optage Driver, Intake Team or Volunteer Coordinator any concerns
    • Provide own transportation
    • Maintain a respectful relationship with clients, staff and volunteers
    • Maintain confidentiality of client records and personal information
    • Contact Volunteer Coordinator in a timely manner if have unexpected changes to volunteer schedule

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Outgoing, caring cheerful attitude
    • Enjoy working with a diverse population and helping people
    • Ability to provide positive customer service
    • Access to your own vehicle
    • Valid Driver's License
    • Valid proof of insurance
    • Must pass background check
    • Must pass DMV check
    • Complete online training modules
    • Reliable in all weather conditions
    • Be able to life around 15-30lb delivery bags into your vehicle and should be able to climb stairs if necessary

    Time Commitment/Hours:

    • 1-2 hours a week
    • 1-2 hours every other week
    • 1-2 hours one time per month

    • General volunteer orientation
    • Annual volunteer training
