    Description

    About the Role

TPCA is seeking a thoughtful, systems‑minded Volunteer Director of Hospitality & Care to ensure volunteers, staff, partners, and guests experience the organization as welcoming, organized, and humane. This role builds reliable, dignity‑centered systems for welcome, recognition, and transitions—without providing counseling or emotional labor.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design and maintain a consistent hospitality framework across departments
    • Ensure welcome, recognition, and transition processes are clear and reliable
    • Keep systems simple, accessible, and well‑documented
    • Coordinate with Volunteer Care on recognition and retention rhythms
    • Support smooth transitions during role changes, pauses, or exits
    • Develop seasonal hospitality plans for high‑tempo periods
    • Make hospitality work visible across the organization
    • Support leadership in maintaining consistent appreciation rhythms
    • Promote a culture of dignity, clarity, and non‑extractive recognition

    What You Bring

    • Strong systems thinking and lightweight operations design
    • Clear boundaries and escalation discipline
    • Reliability and follow‑through, especially during surge seasons
    • Warm, professional communication with healthy emotional boundaries
    • Respect for privacy, consent, and ethical hospitality practices

    Expectations & Boundaries

    • Maintain confidentiality and handle information responsibly
    • Collaborate closely with Operations, Volunteer Care, and department leads
    • Use organizational tools for tracking and coordination
    • Escalate capacity or safety concerns promptly
    • Does not provide counseling, crisis response, or emotional processing
    • Does not replace Volunteer Care, HR, or supervisory roles
    • Does not override department leadership or Executive decisions
    • Collects only minimal information needed for hospitality logistics
