Providing in-person interpretation at outreach events to help explain Habitat’s programs and services to Spanish-speaking attendees – as needed.
Assisting Habitat staff during in-person or virtual meetings with Latino organizations and faith-based groups by providing live interpretation support (at least 7 meetings).
Translating written materials—such as flyers, brochures, presentations, and outreach letters—from English to Spanish, ensuring all translations are clear, accurate, and culturally appropriate to all departments across the Habitat Charlotte Region.
Qualifications:
Must be fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written)
Knowledge of or experience working with the Latino community.
Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills
Commitment to Habitat’s missions
Ability to represent Habitat positively and professionally in community settings
Experience in offering translation services
Time Commitment:
Availability to attend events between Monday–Sunday, including occasional evening activities.
Flexible schedule as needed based on community events and partnership meetings (approximately 2–6 hours per month).
Must be available to attend events or meetings within Habitat’s service area: Mecklenburg, Iredell, and Gaston County
