In this role, the volunteer creates a comforting presence, whether by sharing stories, listening to memories, holding a hand or simply sitting quietly. It is not about providing medical care but about being a source of kindness, connection, and understanding, bringing moments of joy and peace to the patient and their loved ones. This meaningful bond will enrich the lives of the volunteer and the patient.
