    Web development technician

    Key Responsibilities of the Web Development Technician:

    Website Development and Design

    • Create visually appealing, user-friendly, and responsive websites tailored to each school’s brand and values.
    • Utilize coding languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, as well as content management systems (CMS) like WordPress or Drupal;

    Content Management

    • Collaborate with school staff to gather and regularly update content such as:
      • News and announcements
      • Event calendars
      • Academic resources and updates
    • Ensure all content is accurate, timely, and clearly presented;

    User Experience (UX)

    • Design intuitive navigation and layout to make information easily accessible for students, parents, and staff.
    • Conduct usability testing and collect feedback to continuously improve functionality and user satisfaction;

    Tool Integration

    • Implement and maintain essential web tools and integrations, including:
      • Online forms and contact systems
      • Grade reporting portals
      • Student Information System (SIS) integration;

    Security and Maintenance

    • Maintain a high level of website security, protecting against threats and data breaches.
    • Perform regular updates to software, plugins, and themes to ensure smooth operation and compliance with security standards;

    Additional Support Areas

    • Ensure full mobile responsiveness of websites for accessibility on all devices.
    • Apply Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices to enhance search visibility.
    • Provide technical troubleshooting and support as needed.
