    About Felt Education

    Felt Education believes in building communities, not walls. Felt aims to empower and embolden people in underserved communities. We do this by providing FREE, trauma-informed online classes. Felt’s education model is designed to open doors and break down barriers for refugees, immigrants and survivors of war, torture and trafficking to help them step into their new lives with confidence and community.

    The Role

    The Volunteer Coordinator will play a key role in recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers, as well as developing and overseeing internship programs within the organization.

    Essential Duties;

    Volunteer Coordination

    • Develop and implement strategies for recruiting volunteers that align with the organization's needs.
    • Seek opportunities to share Felt Education’s mission and actively recruit volunteers.
    • Conduct outreach activities to attract new volunteers; recruit and interview candidates.
    • Oversee the onboarding and exit process for volunteers including screening applicants, conducting volunteer orientation sessions, and assisting with volunteer training programs.
    • Assign volunteers to appropriate roles based on their skills, interests, and organizational needs.
    • Maintain regular communication with volunteers to ensure engagement and satisfaction.
    • Recognize and appreciate volunteers for their contributions.

    Administrative

    • Supervise and mentor interns and volunteers as needed
    • Manage intern/volunteer records.
    • Prepare regular reports on volunteer and internship program metrics.
    • Communicate program updates and achievements to the leadership team.

    Qualifications

    • Experience in volunteer management preferred
    • Prior experience with vulnerable populations a plus
    • Ability to work collaboratively with dispersed teams and diverse individuals, compassionate and demonstrates cultural sensitivity
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills
    • Comfortable functioning independently in a 100% remote environment

    Schedule

    • This is a 100% volunteer role
    • Flexible hours with an average of 2-5 hours per week (up to 10 hours per week during busy seasons)
    • Training will be provided on operational aspects of Felt programs as well as professional trauma-informed practices.
