WorkFour Colorado is building the movement for a 32-hour workweek in our colorful state. We're looking for volunteers all across Colorado to engage in their local school districts and persuade faculty to participate in our pilot program.
💡 What You’ll Do
- Conduct research on schools that successfully implemented a 32-hour school week
- Work within your "School Week Committee" to brainstorm ideas/share the workload
Draft outreach messages and proposals:
- Things to consider while drafting your proposal: create a meal takeout system (making sure impoverished students are receiving meals on Fridays/weekends), financial assist parents who have children with disabilities (pay for care services), and find a way to protect Hispanic/Latino students from ICE (many of them probably don't want to be home alone)
- Create a PowerPoint presentation for in-person teacher unions, school board, and PTA meetings
- Handout brochures
- Invite guests (either in-person or on Zoom) who's district implemented a 32-hour school week
- Take photos while at the event and send them to the "Social Media Management Committee"
- Collect quantitative data
- Note: it will probably be easier to focus primarily on high schools, because teenagers don't need to be chaperoned 24/7
⏰ Time Commitment
- 3–5 hours/week (flexible)
🌍 Why Volunteer With WorkFour?
- Build a better future where students and teachers have more free time
