Volunteer as a Mock Interviewer to help clients prepare for job interviews!

Overview:

Sign up to join our list of volunteers to conduct mock interviews! JVS Boston hosts virtual and in-person mock interview sessions to help our clients build confidence and prepare for job interviews. Volunteers play a key role in supporting clients’ professional development by offering constructive feedback and encouragement.

JVS Mission:

JVS is a non-profit, non-sectarian agency. Our mission is to empower individuals from diverse communities to find employment and build careers; and to partner with employers to hire, develop and retain productive workforces.

JVS provides a broad range of services including adult education, skills training, job readiness training, job placement and support, and access to post-secondary education. JVS assists employers in their search for well-qualified job applicants and their initiatives to upgrade the skills of their incumbent workforce.

What Volunteers Do:

• Conduct up to two 20 to 30-minute mock interviews with clients enrolled in JVS programs. Interviews are offered both in-person and virtual. JVS staff will be available for guidance.
• Provide feedback and guidance to help clients strengthen their interviewing skills.
• All materials, questions, and guidance will be provided in advance.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Respectful of client confidentiality and cultural diversity.
• Good communication and listening skills.
• Comfortable using Zoom (for virtual sessions)
