    Social Media Coordinator for Mental Health Nonprofit

    Volunteer Social Media Coordinator

    Come grow with us! We're a grassroots organization seeking a passionate and skilled Social Media Coordinator. This volunteer or internship position offers a weekly stipend.

    We here at NoStigmas are passionate and steadfast in creating a positive shift in perspective related to mental health. We hope you are passionate too. This a volunteer position and we are a primarily volunteer-run organization. The knowledge of our impact inspires us. We are looking for someone that is similarly inspired!

    ORGANIZATION

    Founded in 2011, NoStigmas’ mission is to raise awareness and erase the stigmas surrounding suicide and mental illness by training NoStigmas Advocates to provide peer support, share stories of hope and inspiration, facilitate local events and educate the general public about mental health.

    We envision a world without shame or discrimination related to mental health, suicide, brain disease, behavioral disorders and addiction with universal access to mental health education, support, and resources creating a world with NoStigmas.

    POSITION

    The Social Media Coordinator will work with the other team members and supervisors to support NoStigmas social media outreach and marketing strategy.

    The Social Media Coordinator will:

    • Utilize social media system/dashboard management tool to schedule and manage tweets and Facebook updates
    • Create original posts and tweets (graphic design and photography skills are a plus)
    • Respond to social media messages from our community
    • Create and follow up with social media interactions and branding
    • Engage community via Instagram, TikTok, Youtube, and Facebook
    • Research related topics through social media and online research databases
    • Research for tips, trends and new updates and changes on Twitter and Facebook platforms

    The Social Media Coordinator will have the opportunity to:

    • Learn the different strategies used by non-profit organizations to create branding through social media
    • Learn to use a system management tool for an organization’s social media platform which can be useful to build on portfolio
    • Learn the different strategies used to link websites, blogs and social media to create branding and promote the organization’s mission
    • Discover effective strategies for community outreach and engagement via social media.

    Estimated time commitment: 5 hours per week, virtual

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Interest in using social media to create a positive social impact
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
    • Experience in social media strategy, marketing, or related field is a plus!
