ABOUT US:
iMentor supports 3,000 NYC high school students every year through mentorship. Mentorship isn't just about helping students with academic success - it's about building meaningful relationships that build futures. Mentors are matched with juniors and seniors in high school (mentees) to form a one-on-one post-secondary and or college access planning pair relationship.
Mentors are matched based on shared career and personal interests. Matched in relationships ranging from a required minimum of two years to an optional maximum of 4 years, mentor-mentee pairs cultivate their relationship employing a combination of weekly written messages and monthly in-person meetings.
Mentoring with iMentor takes only 3-4 hours a month. Let's do this - together!
ABOUT YOU:
Our mentors are often college-educated volunteers (but it is not a requirement to have a college degree to be a mentor in our program) who commit to working one-on-one with a student for a minimum of two years. It’s a hybrid program. Mentors write their mentee 1x per week (remote) and meet 1x per month at mentee’s school (in-person) during the school year.
TO GET STARTED:
Your first step is to attend Mentor Orientation. At orientation you’ll learn more information about our program, our students and best practices, and what our mentors have found helpful along the way. Click the link below to see upcoming date:
