    Description

    We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive individual to be part of our accessible martial arts program in the Boston area. This is an stipend position, we will be paying $80 per month for this role.

    We are looking for an individual who is familiar with working with people with disabilities and can help us keep our participants engaged, excited, and motivated in a structured, positive environment.

    In person classes are held once per month for 1-hour starting at 6pm in the Boston area and classes are also held virtually one time per week. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in martial arts and a desire to teach and inspire students of all ages. This role requires not only expertise in martial arts techniques but also the ability to foster a positive learning environment, promote discipline, and encourage personal growth among students.

    Responsibilities

      • Instruct students with disabilities in basic martial arts & self defense techniques.
      • Collaborate with other instructors to enhance the overall program quality.
      • Should be flexible to assist wherever needed and will be moving around the exercise floor on a regular basis.
      • Help create an engaging and positive environment by fostering a supportive atmosphere that encourages respect.
      • Assist students and provide encouraging feedback to help them improve their skills.
      • Promote safety during all training sessions.
      • Maintain a clean and organized training environment, ensuring all equipment is safe and in good condition.

    Qualification & Skills:

      • One year of martial arts experience required.
      • Take direction from the program manager as to what the martial arts activities should be.
      • Work well with youth and adults with disabilities and respects their independence.
      • Ability to communicate and work with groups participating and provide necessary instruction to the participants.
      • Ability to engage students through various teaching methods tailored to different learning styles.

    Job Type: Contract
