    Description

The mission of Peninsula College Fund (PCF) is to assist low-income, first-generation college students to graduate and obtain a job that aligns with their career goals. We provide four-year scholarships, one-to-one adult mentors, college and career success training and support to land a high-impact internship.

Mentor recruitment happens on a rolling basis from November 14th, 2025 through April 15th 2026. However, mentors and scholars are matched in the spring. While a prospective mentor may interview in the winter and be considered "match-eligible" in PCF's mentoring program, matching will not occur until mid May 2026.

    Mentor Eligibility

In order to be eligible to mentor with PCF you must have:

    • Graduated from a four-year college or university
    • Minimum of 2 years professional experience; 5 years preferred (post-graduation)

    Mentor Commitments

    PCF Mentors commit to:

    • Support a first-generation college student from an historically underrepresented community
    • A mentor relationship that lasts for four years or until graduation, beginning in June 2026
    • Provide an average of 1 - 2 hours monthly mentoring including academic, social/emotional support, and career guidance, these may be in-person, via text, phone, or video calls
    • Submit a quarterly update to PCF and be open to receiving constructive feedback from staff
    • Attend New Mentor/Scholar Orientation: June 2026 TBD
    • Attend PCF Awards Ceremony: June 2026 TBD
    • Attend our annual Career Exploration Fair: July 18, 2026
    • Participate in at least one training (continuing education sessions for mentors) every year and stay abreast of current PCF events and services to support scholars
    • Adhere to a strict confidentiality agreement
