    About Us:

    At the American Military Museum, we are dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history of our nation’s military vehicles and artifacts. Located in South El Monte, California, our non-profit museum serves as a bridge between the past and present, connecting the community with the stories and experiences that shaped our nation.

    Position Overview:

    We are seeking passionate and motivated volunteers to join our team as Social Media Managers. If you have a love for history, a knack for digital communication, and a desire to keep military history alive, we’d love to have you on board. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy connecting with others and have a background or interest in military history.

    Responsibilities:

    • Social Media Management: Create, schedule, and manage engaging content for the museum’s Facebook and Instagram pages. Share updates, upcoming events, and behind-the-scenes glimpses of our exhibits and activities.
    • Image and Video Production: Assist in capturing and producing high-quality images and videos that highlight the museum’s collections, events, and special features.
    • Volunteer Coordination: Help manage and update volunteer listings to connect with potential new volunteers. Promote volunteer opportunities and support the recruitment process.
    • Community Engagement: Interact with followers, respond to comments and messages, and build a vibrant online community around the museum’s mission.

    Qualifications:

    • Passion for History: A strong interest in military history and a commitment to preserving and sharing it.
    • Social Media Skills: Experience or familiarity with Facebook and Instagram, including content creation and audience engagement.
    • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Veterans Welcome: We particularly encourage veterans of the US military to apply, as their unique perspectives and experiences are invaluable to our mission.
