    Description

Join Cambridge Neighbors, an aging in place organization, as a volunteer driver/escort and help older adults continue to live independently and safely! If you can volunteer about 2 hours per month you will help grow our volunteer driver corps and meet an increasingly important need in the community. Volunteer drivers and escorts drive members to the various places they need to go, and they may also accompany and help out when needed. For medical appointments, escorts may perform drop-off and/or pick-up. They may accompany members inside to meet with their providers, assist with paper work, take notes during the appointment and make sure the member understands what is being said. For grocery shopping, escorts accompany members into the store and might help push the carriage or put items into it. For CN events such as trips to museums, concerts, or lectures, escorts accompany members on the event by staying with them and attending to their special needs i.e. pushing wheelchair, walking assistance, etc. Must be friendly, enjoy older adults, be dependable, patient and detail oriented. Cambridge Neighbors serves Cambridge, Arlington, Belmont, Somerville and Watertown.
