    Description

Help Elementary School Students with Reading or Math

Norfolk County RSVP invites adults age 55+ to support elementary school students by providing one‑on‑one and small‑group assistance in reading or math through our Elementary School Partner Program.

Volunteer tutors work directly with host teachers in K–5 classrooms, helping students who need extra academic support to build skills, confidence, and a love of learning. No prior teaching experience is required—just patience, reliability, and a genuine interest in working with children.

    What You’ll Do

As an Elementary School Volunteer Tutor, you will:

    • Assist students with reading or math in one‑on‑one or small‑group settings
    • Support classroom teachers during the school day
    • Provide encouragement and positive adult engagement for young learners
    • (In some schools, opportunities may also include art, music, science, or library support)
