    The African Think Tank (TATT) is a community-driven nonprofit committed to fostering belonging and advancing the professional, entrepreneurial, and economic transformation of the African Diaspora. Through in-person gatherings, educational programs, cultural initiatives, and digital platforms, we connect people, ideas, and resources to build collective power and opportunity.

    Role Overview

    The Volunteer Chief Marketing Officer will provide strategic marketing leadership for The African Think Tank. This role is ideal for a seasoned marketing professional who wants to apply their expertise to meaningful, community-centered impact.

    Working closely with the Executive Director, Digital Marketing team, and program leads, the CMO will guide overall marketing strategy, ensure message consistency, and help position TATT as a trusted and visible leader within the African Diaspora ecosystem.

    • Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and oversee a cohesive marketing and communications strategy aligned with TATT’s mission and growth goals
    • Refine brand positioning and messaging across programs, events, and campaigns
    • Provide strategic guidance for digital marketing, social media, email campaigns, and event promotion
    • Support marketing efforts for key initiatives, including in-person mixers, TATT Thrive, Culture Bridge, TATT Talks, and fundraising events
    • Review marketing plans, content calendars, and major campaign concepts to ensure consistency and quality
    • Track high-level performance metrics and recommend adjustments for reach and impact
    • Ideal Candidate7+ years of experience in marketing, communications, brand strategy, or related fields
    • Strong understanding of digital marketing, content strategy, and audience engagement
    • Experience leading or advising marketing strategy at an organizational or executive level
    • Ability to translate complex programs into clear, compelling narratives
    • Alignment with TATT’s values of community, belonging, trust, and cultural respect
    • Experience working with nonprofits, startups, or community-based organizations is a plus
    • Time & LocationApproximately 4–6 hours per week
