About Furnishing Faith
Furnishing Faith is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals and families transitioning out of homelessness by fully furnishing and decorating their new homes. We believe that a safe, welcoming space restores dignity, offers hope and creates a foundation for lasting stability.
Role Overview
We are seeking passionate, committed individuals to join our Board of Directors to help guide Furnishing Faith through its exciting early growth stage. Board members will provide strategic direction, governance, and hands-on support to advance our mission and expand our impact!
Responsibilities
- Serve as an advocate and ambassador for Furnishing Faith within the community
- Attend and actively participate in board meetings (quarterly or bi-monthly)
- Contribute to strategic planning and organizational decision-making
- Support fundraising efforts by making a personal contribution and/or connecting the organization with potential donors, sponsors, and partners
- Offer professional expertise, guidance, and networks to strengthen operations (e.g., finance, marketing, legal, nonprofit management)
- Participate in at least one committee or special project each year
Ideal Candidates
We seek individuals who are:
- Passionate about our mission to support people transitioning out of homelessness
- Experienced in areas such as nonprofit management, finance, law, marketing, fundraising, or community engagement
- Collaborative, creative, and willing to be hands-on in a growing organization
- Able to commit time, energy, and resources to advancing the mission
Term
- Initial term: 2 years (renewable)
