    The Fédération Internationale de la Jeunesse in English International Youth Federation (IYF), is an international non-profit youth organization network governed by the present Statutes and the Swiss Civil Code. It is politically neutral and non-denominational, aiming to empower youth worldwide.

    The IYF Department of Public Information (DPI) is responsible for developing and implementing the IYF Global Communications Strategy, strengthening support for the IYF by promoting key messages and strategies on priority youth issues, implementing global campaigns and coordinating communications and public information activities between headquarters, regional administrations and member counties.

    The IYF Media & Advocacy Unit (MAU) works to attract positive attention for the IYF, strengthening recognition of our work and raising the profile of the organization. Strong media outreach, public events, and other multimedia advocacy tools are an important element of that work.

    Under the supervision of Senior Media Specialist, the Marketing & Outreach Specialist develops and implements a plan to bolster communications efforts across the organization, with a particular focus on raising IYF’s profile, producing and coordinating communications with the other communications teams, and coordinating capacity-building in Country Teams and other Bureaux.

    S/he provide communications support services and strategic outreach and supports IYF’s branding and marketing through the development of public information, marketing, advertising and awareness-raising campaigns and the production of communications products.

    To voluntarily represent, positively promote, and uphold the mission of “Empowering youth for a better world” in various programs and opportunities throughout the IYF interventions and the community.

    Responsibilities

    (A) Strengthen IYF’s strategic outreach, branding, marketing and public information capacity:

    • Conceptualize and implement a comprehensive strategy for outreach and positioning of the IYF, including developing, coordinating, and generating external partnerships and support for branding and marketing campaigns with multiple target audiences;
    • Strengthen outreach to donors and other partners through strategic products and services in collaboration with Regional Partnerships focal points;
    • In collaboration with the Media and Advocacy team, manage the production of select corporate multilingual communications products (Illustrated Annual Report, brochures, fact sheets and other digital products, with a special focus on donor-related and targeted materials) and provide editorial support through writing, editing; and
    • In close collaboration with the Media and Advocacy team identify marketing/communications needs and develop appropriate tools and methods to enhance communications skills at all levels across the organization.

    (B) Contribute to brand consistency and quality management through advisory support for a

    range of multilingual communications services and tools:

    • Oversee the provision of advisory services for writing/editing, translation, and dissemination of multilingual communications tools.
    • Develop and manage a comprehensive database of vendors – writers, editors and service providers;
    • Increase IYF’s multilingual presence through translation services in more languages;
    • Develop multilingual tools, templates and guidelines for corporate communications products and ensure visual coherence of the IYF brand;
    • Update, maintain and enhance marketing of the IYF Communications Toolkit;
    • Provide marketing strategies tailored to specific clients’ needs;
    • Ensure consistency and common messaging in IYF communications.

    Language

    Advanced English Skills are required.

    Experience

    Marketing experience within an NGO, INGO, non-profit, charity, government, international development, youth empowerment, women's empowerment or similar organization is required.
