    Description

    The Volunteer Data Support Officer assists Rukundo International by accurately entering, organizing, and maintaining program data. This role supports school, scholar, and other program records and helps ensure information is clear, up-to-date, and ready for reporting and sponsor communication.

    This is a behind-the-scenes support role suited for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with spreadsheets and basic databases.

    Primary Responsibilities

    1. Data Entry & Organization

    Rukundo Preparatory School (RPS):

    • Enter student grades for beginning, mid and end of term exams
    • Enter weekly student attendance records
    • Organize and update other data where assigned such as, holiday package returns, parent satisfaction surveys, parent meeting attendance, etc.

    Scholars & Other Programs:

    • Organize other program-related data as assigned.

    Data Checking & Cleaning

    • Review entered data for accuracy and completeness
    • Flag missing or unclear data and communicate questions to the supervisor
    • Clean and organize spreadsheets so information is easy to understand and use

    Communication & Sponsor Support

    • Create draft emails or letters based on provided templates and data
    • Help organize data used for sponsor updates and reports

    • Handle all student, family, and donor information with confidentiality
    • Represent Rukundo International’s mission, values, and positive organizational culture in all work

    Skills & Qualifications

    Required:

    • Strong attention to detail
    • Comfortable using spreadsheets (Google Sheets or Excel)
    • Reliable internet access and ability to work remotely
    • Ability to follow instructions and meet agreed deadlines

    Preferred (not required):

    • Experience with data entry or administrative work
    • Interest in education, nonprofits, or international development
    • Familiarity with basic data organization or cleaning
