    Rise Pantry Local Pick Up Volunteer

    Volunteer as a Pantry Pick-Up Driver!

    We are urgently seeking volunteer drivers to assist with local donation pick-ups and deliveries. This vital role ensures our pantry stays stocked and that community members receive the items they need most.

    Schedule

    Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays (You can pick one day or more! - We will work with you)

    8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

    Responsibilities

    • Drive to local donation sites and partner organizations.
    • Safely load, transport, and unload food and household items.
    • Communicate with Pantry Coordinators and staff about schedules and deliveries.
    • Represent Rise with professionalism, friendliness, and care.

    Requirements

    • Clean, valid driver’s license.
    • Your own reliable vehicle.
    • Excellent communication and people skills.
    • Ability to lift, carry, bend, and move items up to 40 lbs.
    • Reliability and a team-player attitude.

    Volunteer Agreement

    As a volunteer driver for Rise Pantry, I understand that I play a vital role in ensuring the pantry remains stocked and that community members receive the food and supplies they need. I agree to follow all policies and safety standards outlined below to ensure safe, respectful, and efficient operations.

    Responsibilities

    Volunteer Drivers are expected to:

    • Safely drive Rise’s vehicle (or their personal vehicle, if pre-approved) to complete scheduled donation pick-ups and deliveries.
    • Load, transport, and unload donations with care, including food, household items, and pantry supplies.
    • Communicate effectively with Pantry Coordinators regarding routes, schedules, and any issues that arise.
    • Represent Rise in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner at all times.

    Requirements & Qualifications

    • Must hold a valid driver’s license in good standing.
    • Must maintain a clean driving record (subject to verification if necessary).
    • Ability to lift, carry, bend, and move items up to 40 lbs.
    • Must comply with all traffic laws and operate vehicles safely at all times.
    • Must arrive on time for scheduled shifts and notify staff immediately if unable to drive.
    • Adult volunteers only (18+).

    Safety & Liability Policies

    • Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes and use proper lifting techniques when handling donations.
    • Cell phones may only be used when the vehicle is safely parked. Hands-free devices must be used if communication with staff is necessary while driving.
    • Rise vehicles (if used) must be kept clean and returned with all equipment in proper order.
    • Personal vehicles used for pick-ups must be insured and in safe operating condition.
    • Rise is not responsible for damage to a volunteer’s personal vehicle.
    • Volunteers must report any accidents, incidents, or safety concerns to Rise staff immediately.

    Conduct & Representation

    • Volunteers must be polite and respectful to donors, staff, and community partners.
    • Harassment, discrimination, or unsafe behavior will not be tolerated.
    • Confidentiality regarding donor or client information must be respected.
    • Volunteers represent Rise in the community and must maintain professionalism.
