    Description

    Aquarium Feeding Specialist

    Aquarium feeding specialist volunteers work with aquarists to feed the animals in six large (500+ gallons) saltwater model ecosystem aquariums and other small tanks. Duties include following established guidelines to weigh out, cut, measure, feed and restock food items for the Aquarium's living collections. Food items may include pellets, flakes, liquid supplements, and frozen foods such as squid, shrimp, fish and scallops.

    Requirements: minimum age is 16; commit to at least 3 hours per week for two months; be detail oriented; tolerant of saltwater; ability to stand for extended periods and climb short ladders and stairs; no shellfish allergy and undergo a background check, which includes being fingerprinted at no cost.

    1 shift available:

    • additional shifts available from 2pm to 5pm.: 09:00 to 12:00 EST
