Director of the Storytelling for Refugees & Migrants

    Director of the Storytelling

Volunteer | Remote | Flexible schedule

    Who We Are

At Creshendo, we believe everyone deserves the chance to belong, rebuild, and rise. In partnership with displaced communities, we co-create solutions by listening deeply, collaborating intentionally, and centering lived experience.

Fueled by integrity, empathy, and curiosity, we design bold, inclusive programs that reimagine what’s possible for displaced communities. If you’re passionate about challenging the status quo and driving meaningful change, you’ll feel right at home here.

    Why This Role Matters

Stories change how people see, feel, and act. As our Director of the Storytelling team, you’ll guide the vision, direction, and daily operations of one of Creshendo’s most creative and visible initiatives. By managing a global team of artists, animators, and content creators, you’ll help ensure that migrant and refugee stories are told with dignity, ethics, and impact. This is a leadership role where vision meets execution—bringing bold ideas to life with care and follow-through.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    • You’ll set and steer the creative vision for the Storytelling Project.
    • You’ll manage team priorities, timelines, and feedback loops.
    • You’ll supervise animation and visual design outputs.
    • You’ll ensure stories are told with consent, care, and nuance.
    • You’ll collaborate across teams to align messaging and tone.
    • You’ll track trends in visual storytelling and translate them into strategy.
    • You’ll build partnerships with content creators, platforms, and allies.
    • You’ll support audience growth through ethical, authentic engagement.

    What You Bring

    • A mindset for creative problem-solving. You enjoy trying new things.
    • Openness to diverse perspectives. You know the best ideas come from collaboration.
    • Experience leading creative, advocacy, or visual storytelling projects.
    • Strong skills in team management and guiding remote collaborators.
    • The ability to give constructive feedback that sharpens creative work.
    • Organization, clear communication, and foresight in planning.
    • A deep care for equity, voice, and ethical storytelling.

    What You’ll Gain

    • The chance to lead one of Creshendo’s most visible projects.
    • Real ownership over creative direction and strategy.
    • Collaboration with a global team of kind, talented creatives.
    • Space to experiment, build, and grow something meaningful.

    How We Work

We operate with a G.Y.S.T. mindset: clarity over chaos, consistency over perfection, action over ego. If you lead with intention and follow through, you’ll feel at home here.
