Position Description:
The Director of Education serves as the point person for Chicago Street Medicine to ensure and improve quality of care for people experiencing homelessness. This includes efforts both within the organization and its chapters as well as efforts throughout the city.
Position Term:
Two years
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Educational opportunities within Chicago Street Medicine
- Maintain and update resource library accessible to board members and chapters
- Generally be available to board members and chapters for educational opportunities including lectures/presentations or workshops (virtual/in-person or live/recorded)
- Help facilitate guest lectures/trainings for board members/chapters
- Help publicize/assist chapters with involvement in outside opportunities such as publications and events/conferences
- For agencies outside of CSM, as a representative of CSM on a case-by-case basis be available to educate agencies on subjects affecting people experiencing homelessness

Requirements:
- Previous experience and/or training in healthcare, medical education, and/or health disparities
- Preferred experience in education such as teaching experience or faculty appointment
- Experience working with underserved and marginalized persons and communities
- Chicago residence or significant connection with the city
- An understanding that as a new nonprofit, this is a working Board of Directors that requires active participation and project development
- Ability to attend executive board meetings (as frequently as once per month for two hours)
- Commitment for 2 years
