    Description

    Community Outreach Navigator

    About the Role

    The Community Navigator helps CITCA connect with youth, families, and community partners across Baltimore. Navigators support outreach efforts by staffing events, sharing program information, and helping community members access resources. This is a hybrid role with remote planning and required in‑person participation for meetings, collaboration, and community events.

    Schedule & Commitment

    • Hybrid role — remote meetings + required in‑person events
    • 10‑month volunteer term
    • 10–40 hours per month
    • 4‑hour work blocks between 9:00 AM–5:30 PM
    • Weekly hybrid team meetings
    • In‑person events required (some evenings/weekends)
    • Event time typically 8–12 hours; may increase during busy seasons
    • A full‑time job is not ideal for this role

    Key Responsibilities

    • Staff CITCA tables at community events and partner sites
    • Engage youth, families, and community members with warmth and professionalism
    • Share program information and encourage sign‑ups
    • Support event setup and breakdown
    • Track attendance and engagement numbers
    • Maintain accurate documentation
    • Participate in weekly hybrid meetings and planning sessions
    • Assist with computer‑based tasks and delegated assignments

    Minimum Requirements

    • Age 14+
    • Ability to commit to the full 10‑month term
    • Availability for weekly hybrid meetings and scheduled work blocks
    • Reliable transportation for in‑person events
    • Comfort using Google Workspace and basic digital tools
    • Strong communication skills
    • Ability to stand for extended periods
    • Commitment to CITCA’s values of care, belonging, and community empowerment

    Preferred Skills & Qualities

    • Experience in outreach, youth work, customer service, or community engagement
    • Ability to build rapport with diverse groups
    • Organized, dependable, and proactive
    • Comfortable speaking with the public
    • Cultural humility and sensitivity
    • Interest in mental health, education, or youth development
    • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
