Volunteer Opportunity: Digital Literacy Instructor (Flexible Schedule)
Role:
Teach digital literacy classes to empower adults, seniors, and immigrants. Instructors can bring their own curriculum and choose to:
- Lead a one-time workshop
- Contribute to a monthly theme
- Teach on a month-to-month basis
Topics You Can Cover (Examples):
- Basic Computer Skills
- Cybersecurity & Digital Footprint
- Telehealth and Online Health Tools
- Financial Literacy (online banking, budgeting apps)
- Job Readiness (resume building, online applications, interviewing)
- Social Media and Communication Tools
- Any other relevant digital skills
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons based on your expertise.
- Adapt your curriculum to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Provide hands-on instruction and answer participant questions.
- Coordinate with our team to align with monthly themes and scheduling.
Qualifications:
- Experience teaching or training adults in technology or related fields.
- Ability to create and manage your own lesson plans.
- Strong communication skills and cultural sensitivity.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
Commitment Details
- One-Time Workshop: Teach a single class (2–3 hours) on a topic of your choice.
- Monthly Theme Contribution: Offer one or more classes aligned with our monthly focus (e.g., Resume Building, Applying for Jobs, Cybersecurity).
- Month-to-Month Teaching: Commit to teaching regularly for a month or longer, with flexible scheduling.
- Minimum Time: 2–4 hours per session; frequency is up to you.
