    Description

Make a "Dog-Gone" Difference in a Hospice Patient’s Life (in DeKalb + Gwinnett County)

VITAS invites friendly pets to join the Paw Pals program, to visit with hospice patients in a senior community or in their private homes. A pet visit offers comfort, brings back memories of other pets, and makes everyone smile.

Paw Pals must be well-groomed, at least one- year old, and have up-to-date health records. No previous experience required.

VITAS provides free training and orientation for volunteers to learn the skills required

to be an excellent Hospice Volunteer. Times and dates are ongoing and flexible. Your commitment is completely up to you, whether you decide to volunteer one day a week or month.
