Role Description

This is a volunteer, remote role for a Tech Career Mentor. As a mentor, you will guide and support underrepresented young individuals pursuing careers in technology, offering advice on career pathways, technical skills, and professional development. You will help mentees build confidence, set goals, navigate challenges, and connect with relevant industry networks. By sharing your experiences, you will play a vital role in shaping future tech leaders and promoting diversity in the industry.

Qualifications

• Technical skills in one of these fields such as Programming, Software Development, Data Analysis, UX Design, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, Game Development, Robotics, Quantum Computing, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Management, Project Management, Product Management, Human resources, Strategic Management or related tech expertise
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for mentoring and empowering young people
• Experience in professional development, career guidance, or coaching
• Ability to work independently and maintain clear communication in a remote environment
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the tech and entrepreneurship sectors
• Familiarity with challenges faced by underrepresented communities in technology is a plus
• Experience collaborating with community initiatives or non-profit organizations is a bonus
