    Support our IT Infastructure

    About Us:

    The Minnesota Valley Chapter of the Izaak Walton League is a community environmental center dedicated to conservation, education, and community engagement. We host a variety of events, meetings, and programs focused on environmental awareness and protection.

    Position Overview:

    We are seeking a motivated and tech-savvy individual to join our team as a Volunteer IT Assistant. This role will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure, both physical and online, to support our various community activities and programs.

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintain and troubleshoot the Chapter House's IT infrastructure, including smart TV, sound system, computers, printer, and wireless network.
    • Provide clear instructions and support to volunteers utilizing IT resources during events, meetings, and programs.
    • Ensure volunteers are properly trained to use online tools and platforms, such as Google Suite, WordPress, Zoom, and Canva.
    • Assist in hosting hybrid meetings and broadcasting educational events online.
    • Support multimedia presentations for art shows and other special events.
    • Collaborate with program leaders to maintain and improve science-related infrastructure used in conservation programs.
    • Communicate technical processes effectively to non-technical individuals and demonstrate patience in assisting users with varying levels of IT proficiency.

    Qualifications:

    • Experience with IT support and troubleshooting preferred but not required; training can be provided for motivated individuals.
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to convey technical information clearly to non-technical users.
    • Patience and willingness to provide support and guidance to volunteers.
    • Flexibility to respond to special events or volunteer needs, with a commitment of approximately 5 hours per month.
