    Description

The House Ministry Staff serve as the spiritual, operational, and relational backbone of Mercy Haven, the female-only, faith-based transitional housing program under Elijah S. Mercy Ministries. These team members are called to steward the daily life of the home with compassion, structure, and accountability, acting as servant leaders and mentors to the women in the program. Each staff member plays a vital role in modeling Christlike character, cultivating a safe and orderly environment, and helping residents grow spiritually, emotionally, and practically.

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Spiritual Guidance: Lead or facilitate devotionals, prayer times, and Bible studies; provide personal spiritual support; encourage women in their walk with Christ.
    • Oversight and Accountability: Ensure residents are following house rules and schedules; lovingly enforce boundaries; perform curfews and room checks.
    • Relational Mentorship: Build meaningful, discipling relationships with residents, offering grace-filled counsel, encouragement, and correction.
    • Daily Chores & Routine Supervision: Oversee cleanliness and household tasks; assign and monitor completion of chore chart; maintain organization and safety.
    • Conflict Resolution: Intervene with wisdom and calmness in interpersonal issues; escalate as needed to directors or pastors; maintain a peaceful home environment.
    • Administrative Duties: Assist with resident intake and exit procedures, complete reports or evaluations, and help maintain accurate records.
    • Safety & Crisis Response: Remain trained in de-escalation and basic emergency response; act swiftly in unsafe or inappropriate situations.
    • Bridge Between Residents and Leadership: Communicate needs, patterns, concerns, and successes to the Program Director or Mercy Hub Coordinator.

    Character & Expectations:

    • A committed Christian with a solid testimony and active church life.
    • Mature, grounded in the Word, and able to lead others in prayer and discipleship.
    • Able to live or be present within the home on a schedule (as assigned).
    • Emotionally steady, compassionate, discerning, and firm when needed.
    • Willing to maintain confidentiality and appropriate boundaries.
