    Description

    Role Summary

    Youth Ideas at Work (YIAW) is seeking a mission-aligned Board Member to provide governance, compliance, and fiduciary oversight as the organization enters a grant-funded growth and launch phase.

    This is a governance role, not an operational or management position.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide strategic governance and organizational oversight
    • Support fiduciary and compliance responsibilities
    • Review and approve key policies, budgets, and governance documents
    • Strengthen YIAW’s credibility with funders, partners, and institutions
    • Participate in board meetings and governance reviews

    Ideal Background

    • Nonprofit governance or board service
    • Grant-funded organizations or foundations
    • Compliance, audit, finance, or risk management
    • Legal, public sector, or institutional experience

    Time Commitment

    • Low to moderate (quarterly meetings + occasional review)
