Come make an impact in the lives of girls across the Wasatch Front through Girl Scouts! Girl Scouts of Utah (GSU) is looking for caring adult volunteers with can-do attitudes and passion for bringing opportunities to all youth. Troop leaders will use established curriculum and provided supplies to lead biweekly meetings in at-risk or under-resourced community centers, schools, and other youth programs. One troop requires a one hour biweekly commitment at a consistent time for at least the academic year.

Key Roles:
- Run 1+ biweekly Girl Scout outreach troops using established resources.
- Facilitate participation in council-supported cookie program in February & March.
- Maintain troop paperwork & reporting parameters for GSU.
Requirements*:
- Be a member of Girl Scouts of the USA (financial assistance available)
- Pass a background screening (included with membership)
- Attend the full course of training within a month of signing up (about 3.5 hours)
- Attend pre-season cookie training
- Commit to at least one school year of biweekly meetings (2-3 hours biweekly)
- Some sites may have additional, site-specific requirements for volunteers

Outreach Troop Leader Position Description
Full responsibilities:
- Using provided supplies and curriculum, deliver a one-hour, biweekly meeting on-site for at-risk or underserved youth on behalf of Girl Scouts of Utah
- Work collaboratively with site-staff to manage youth behavior at meetings using trauma-informed care practices (training provided)
- Coordinate with GSU Staff the pickup and return of program supplies.
- Work with GSU to implement and facilitate the GSU cookie program in February & March.
- Work with GSU on enrichment activities for troops, such as attending events, minicamps, and other programs, if desired
- Collect site permission forms and deliver/scan within 1 week to GSU
- Maintain an attendance sheet and report regular participation numbers to GSU
- Maintain confidentiality
- Gain and maintain current training with GSU
- Administer end of school year surveys using tablets from GSU
- Provide transportation to sites. Sites can be matched based on transportation access or needs.
- Follow Troop Leader dress guidelines (GSU will provide a free Girl Scouts shirt).
